报告题目:Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories Overview and Applied Nonlinear Estimation
内容简介:This talk begins with an overview of research activities at Mitsubishi Electric Research (MERL), a leading research organization located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA that conducts fundamental research for industrially-motivated problems. Afterward case studies will be covered to illustrate how MERL conducts application-driven research.
报告人简介:
Dr. Jinyun Zhang is currently a Vice President and Director at Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories (MERL). In this capacity, she has been directing research activities in areas of Electronics & Communications, Multimedia Technologies and Data Analytics. Her main focus is on long-term strategic planning and development of innovative or disruptive technologies for future businesses. Before joining MERL in 2001, she worked for Nortel Networks for 10+ years where she held engineering and management positions in the areas of VLSI design and advanced wireless & optical technology development.
Dr. Zhang received her B.Sc from Tsinghua University in Radio Electronics and then worked in Tsinghua, China until 1985. She received Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from University of Ottawa, Canada in 1991. She is an IEEE Fellow and MERL Fellow, has authored and co-authored more than 190 publications, invented and co-invented more than 150 patents and patent applications, and made numerous contributions to international standards. Dr. Zhang is a member of the IEEE BT, COMM, IT, ITS, PES, SP, and VT Socieites. She is an AdCom member of IEEE Sensors Council and Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting, and has served as a Technical Program Committee member for various IEEE international conferences.
Yebin Wang obtained the B.Eng. degree in Mechatronics Engineering from Zhejiang University, China, in 1997, M.Eng. degree in Control Theory & Control Engineering from Tsinghua University, China, in 2001, and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta, Canada, in 2008. Dr. Wang has been with Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, since 2009, and now is a Senior Principal Research Scientist. He has published about 80 papers in referred journals and conferences, and hold/filed over 25 US patents. He was an associate editor of the IEEE CASE, and is an associate editor of the IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica. His research interests include nonlinear estimation, optimal control, adaptive and data-driven learning control systems, and their applications including mechatronic systems.
